burial dead

According to ancient idea in religious of Zoroastrians, burial dead under soil or throwing dead in current water or burning dead by fire is a great sin , because this work is cause of pollution water  , fire or soil , therefore Zoroastrians put dead bodies in  puddles at far and high places on the mountains , till carrion birds or wild dogs eat the meats of dead bodies , after that when bones was dried with sun , they collected bones and put them inside split of mountains because of animals or water could not rich them .they named there Estudan .

In late period Zoroastrians put dead bodies in Tower Of Silence over high places or on the mountains.

Nowadays Zoroastrians in Iran burial dead under soil like other religiousness but I have heard still some Indian Zoroastrians doing burial like past time.
